CONCRETE COTTAGE
LOKOMOTIV + Ernő Slabb + MBS

Techno
‘Brutalism is not a style, but an expression of an atmosphere’ – Reyner Banham.
Brutalism began as a response to the flippancy and avarice of the modern world; a
movement founded on the principles of functionality, efficiency and structural power. On
Wednesday of 3 rd Week, Oxford Brutalist Society pays homage to these values through
Techno. Soviet inspired DJ collective LOKOMOTIV will evoke images of industrial dynamism,
before Ernő Slabb explores capitalist dystopia. MBS will close out the night in
characteristically relentless fashion, breaking down techno into its raw, concrete
components.
